Non-point pollution is the most harmful form of water pollution in Virginia. Its called non-point source (NPS) because it enters the waterways in stormwater runoff from farms,streets, construction sites, and surburban lawns, roofs and driveways.
There are four types of non-point pollution:
- Sediment
- Nutrients
- Toxic Substances
- Pathogens
